Innovation Name: Emergency Jump starters with Rapid Recharge technology
Awards: 3rd Most Innovative Manufacturing & Consumer Goods Company
Lithium jump starters are extremely popular for their compact size, light weight and extremely high output (start) current to capacity (Ah) ratio. However, due to their low “capacity” (compared to lead-acid jump starters) they do not last very long before needing to be recharged and therefore run the risk of not being fully charged in an emergency/when needed.
BWI have created an emergency jump starter program utilising PROJECTA’s worldwide-patented Rapid Recharge technology. Rapid Recharge technology allows the user to keep their jump starter connected to the vehicle after it has started and uses the vehicle’s alternator to recharge the jump starter battery. It only takes 40 seconds to fully replenish any charge lost during the jumpstart process (vs 6 hours for existing alternatives). Thus, the jump starter is always ready for use when needed or in case of an emergency.
