Similar to mobile phone plans, when a customer elects a MyPower pricing plan they have a target number of units of electricity to use during the peak period (1pm to 8pm during November to April).
The app helps them monitor their usage and notifies them if they are nearing their limit, allowing them to change their behaviour and stay within their plan or move to a lower plan. The monthly fixed cost is higher compared with the existing tariff but the variable rate is much lower. These plans smooth out customers’ bills, giving them greater certainty and control over bills.
