The Traffic Manager is a new role within Shootsta introduced in May 2018. It is the first point of contact for all video editing work globally. Prior to globalisation the traffic manager: Is the first point of call for all inbound video request. Examines the client brief and allocate the work to a relevant editor Sets the deadline for the work and monitor editor workload Last year, Shootsta expanded to three new countries (US, UK and Hong Kong) in under 12 months. The shift evolved the role of the Traffic Manager, and a second Traffic Manager was hired in the UK to ensure global coverage, and coordinate work across a global team of 23 editors.
The Traffic Managers currently: Manage inbound requests for video globally Assign work to editors, based on capacity and shifts regardless of which office they are working from. Ensure the effective handover of incomplete video work across borders, to ensure continuous video editing around the clock. A ‘follow-the-sun’ methodology. Each month the traffic managers, triage and manage over approximately 900 videos.
