Our innovation is a live digital maintenance communication system that promotes agile utilisation of maintenance resources, delivers improved schedule attainment and status updates, and reduces equipment downtime. The customised interface was built on an existing proprietary software platform, already in use at the refinery. We displayed it in convenient and accessible locations. Anyone with access to LiveSchedule can access the data on their own computer, with people assigned the ability to view, update or enter information based on their user profile. It is also displayed on a dedicated large touchscreen within the maintenance department, facilitating regular discussions around resource allocation (eg daily scrum). The display is soon to be replicated in other key locations. Dual-trades staff provide live status updates on specific work fronts (including job assignment, status: started/on hold/complete, and feedback on issues encountered in the field).
LiveSchedule provides improved understanding of priorities and flexibility for them to use their experience to optimise their workflow where they see opportunity for more efficient outcomes. Operations co-ordinators can live update priorities and see job status in real time. Ultimately, this delivers improved manufacturing performance in support of our objective of safe, reliable operations , and benefits customers through ongoing reliability improvements.
