The process

Entry is simple – all you need to do is:

Number1Graphic_UpdatedNominate your organisation (nominations for 2017 have closed).

  • To be eligible, your registration form and fee must be received by 12 May.

Number2Graphic_UpdatedComplete Inventium’s online innovation survey

  • A link to the survey will be sent via e-mail on May 29, 2017. This should be distributed to all staff as soon as it’s received.
  • Ensure that you get as many employees as possible to complete the survey by June 23, 2017. You’ll need to meet a minimum response number that is based on your total number of employees (for example an organisation of 100 people will need to complete 40 surveys). To help you achieve your minimum response number, we will give you scheduled updates throughout the submission period.
  • The survey is designed to measure your specific performance on the the nine key drivers of innovation, according to Inventium’s best practice Innovation Framework. It is essential in the development of your bespoke Inventium Innovation Report.
Average time to complete: approximately 15 minutes per person*

  • We’ll send this via e-mail on May 29, 2017 & it needs to be submitted by June 23, 2017.
  • Describe your top 2 innovations that have been launched on/after May 2016
  • Remember if you are an early bird entrant and register and pay before April 27, 2017 you will receive this form straight away.

Average time to complete: 6 hours*

  • We’ll send this via e-mail on May 29, 2017 & it needs to be submitted by June 23, 2017.
  • Answer five questions on how your company has embedded innovation into its organisational structures, strategy and capability
  • Remember if you are an early bird entrant and register and pay before April 27, 2017 you will receive this form straight away.

Average time to complete: 6 hours*

*Based on top ranking companies from previous years. Includes full process – identifying what to write about, creating first draft, reviewing drafts, getting approval, and submitting final entry.

Assessment Methodology

Being innovators, we know you’ll be eager to get your nominations in and thinking of all the wondrous things that will come from being listed, but this is where we remind you – it’s a tough gig! Our rigorous research process ensures only the most innovative of innovative companies make the published list.

Our method for evaluating the “innovativeness” of organisations uses both quantitative and qualitative data via a three-step approach.

  • How unique is the idea?
  • How well does the idea address the problem it’s solving?
  • Is there clear evidence of the impact the idea has made?

Number2Graphic_UpdatedA team of Inventium analysts assess and score your additional short answer questions, based on research-driven best practices to driving innovation.

Number3GraphicA team of Inventium analysts develop your bespoke Innovation Survey Report (worth $10k) and compare your performance against other entrants to build a benchmark against Australia and New Zealand’s best innovators.

Statistical analysis of the data forms the basis of the Innovation Survey Report. This is prepared for each organisation that enters, regardless of placing. You’ll receive your report after the rankings are published.
